The Long Good Friday - very good retro movie with a heavy 1970s feel (finished in 1979, but released in 1981), with many cast members who later came big stars (James Bond's Pierce Brosnan is cast as "1st Irishman"). Part of the retro-feel is the theme music, which they use liberally throughout the movie.
Helen Mirren isn't exactly pretty, but definitely had a definite sexual appeal in this movie, which is kind of weird because I always think of her as an old woman based on most of the movies I have seen her in (Excalibur being the one exception).
